The Company operates in five segments: supply chain, grain marketing, malt manufacturing, rural services and others. The Company’s subsidiaries include ABB Pty Ltd., Australian Barley Board Pty Ltd., Ceretech Pty Ltd., Grain Australia Pty Ltd., Joe White Maltings Systems Pty Ltd., South Australian Bulk Handling Pty Ltd., Southern Wharf Services Pty Ltd., The Lentil Company Pty Ltd., TLC World Pty Ltd. and Maltco International Pty Ltd. On June 30, 2008, the Company acquired the business of PCL Feeds.
BRIEF: For the six months ended 31 March 2009, ABB Grain Limited's revenues increased 25% to A$1.38B. Net income decreased 12% to A$29.7M. Revenues reflect an increase in Grain Marketing, Malt Manufacture, other business segments and continued expansion & development of rural services business including wool, fertilizer & merchandise. Net income was offset by increase in employee benefit expenses and higher other operating expenses.
