Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited (Adcock) is a South Africa-based pharmaceutical company. Adcock operates in two divisions: Pharmaceutical and Hospital Products. The Pharmaceutical division has a portfolio of generic prescription medicines across a range of therapeutic areas, as well as over-the-counter (OTC) products. The Pharmaceutical division’s products can be split into OTC, prescription, generics and prescription ethicals. The Hospital products division is a supplier of hospital and critical care products. The Hospital products division consists of Adcock Ingram Critical Care (AICC) and The Scientific Group. AICC product portfolio includes renal dialysis systems, transplant, and a range of ostomy products, products for storage of blood, intravenous fluids and accessories. On 31 March 2008, Adcock acquired of Adcock Ingram Healthcare (Pty) Limited, Adcock Ingram Critical Care (Pty) Limited and Adcock Ingram Intellectual Property (Pty) Limited.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 31 March 2009, Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited revenues increased 23% to RAN1.9B. Net income increased 20% to RAN354.9M. Revenues reflect higher income from Prescription, Over the Counter & Hospital Products business segments and due to price rise granted by the department of Health. Net income was partially offset by lower finance revenue and higher operating expenses.
