Automotive Axles Limited (AAL) is an independent manufacturer of rear drive axle assemblies in India, with manufacturing facilities located at Mysore. The Company operates in two segments: domestic and exports. The Company is a joint venture of Arvin Meritor Inc., United States, and the Kalyani Group. AAL’s original equipment manufacturers (OEM) clients include Ashok Leyland, Telco, Vehicle Factory, Jabalpur, Mahindra & Mahindra, Volvo and Bharat Earth Movers. AAL exports axle parts to United States and Italy. AAL offers a selection of single rear drive axles ranging from 6000 kilogram to 14,000 kilogram gross axle weight rating (GAWR) for truck, bus, tractor and construction vocations. The Company offers a variety of single-reduction tandem drive with GAWR capacities from 19000 kilogram to 28000 kilogram. AAL's non-drive axle does not have drive but used along with drive axles in order to enhance the vehicle load bearing capacity.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 30 September 2009, Automotive Axles Ltd's revenues decreased 64% to RS2.7B. Net income decreased 83% to RS96.6M. Revenues reflect a decrease sales from Domestic segment and lower sales from Export segment. Net income also reflects lower gross & operating margin. Automotive axles is engaged in the manufacture of automobile ancillaries such as rear axle housings.
