Barratt Developments PLC is a United Kingdom-based homebuilding company. The Company’s principal activities include acquiring and developing land, planning, designing and constructing residential property developments and selling the homes it builds. The Company’s homebuilding business trades under the Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Ward Homes brands. The Company operates in two business segments: homebuilding and commercial developments. The Company’s subsidiaries include BDW Trading Limited, BDW East Scotland Limited, KingsOak Homes Limited, David Wilson Homes Limited and Wilson Bowden Developments Limited. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009 (fiscal 2009), the Company sold over 13,200 homes and 590,000 square feet of commercial property. On July 1, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of Hawkstone (South West) Limited. The Company is the holding company of the Barratt Group of companies.
