GAIL (India) Limited is a natural gas company in India. As of March 31, 2009, the Company’s business portfolio included 6,700 kilometres of natural gas high pressure trunk pipeline with a capacity to carry 148 million metric standard cubic meter per day (MMSCMD) of natural gas across the country; seven liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) gas processing units to produce 1.2 million metric ton per annum (MMTPA) of LPG and other liquid hydrocarbons; 1,922 kilometres of LPG transmission pipeline network with a capacity to transport 3.8 MMTPA of LPG; 27 oil and gas exploration blocks and three coal bed methane blocks; joint venture companies in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Agra, Lucknow, Bhopal, Agartala and Pune, for supplying piped natural gas (PNG) to households and commercial users, and compressed natural gas (CNG) to the transport sector. Its subsidiaries include GAIL Gas Limited, GAIL Global (Singapore) Limited and Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 31 March 2009, GAIL(India) Limited's revenues increased 31% to RS254.91B. Net income increased 2% to RS28.26B. Revenues reflects increased income from petrochemicals, natural gas trading & LPG liquid hydrocarbons segments and higher other income. Net income was partially offset by an increase in administration, selling & distribution, higher depreciation charges and a rise in operating expenditures.
