Globe Telecom, Inc. is a provider of digital wireless communications services in the Philippines under the Globe and Touch Mobile brand using a fully digital network. It also offers domestic and international long distance communication services or carrier services. The Company operates in three segments. Mobile Communications Services represents digital cellular telecommunications services that allow subscribers to make and receive local, domestic long distance and international long distance calls and short messaging services to and from any place within the coverage area. Wireline Communications Services represents fixed line telecommunications services, which offer subscribers local, domestic long distance and international long distance voice services in addition to broadband and Internet services. Others represents mobile content and application development services. On June 26, 2008, the Company acquired Entertainment Gateway Group.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Globe Telecom,Inc.'s revenues increased 2% to PP33.33B. Net income increased 17% to PP7.24B. Revenues reflects an increase in income from Service revenues, higher No service revenues and increase in gain on disposal of property and equipment. Net income also reflects a decrease in impairment losses and other expense, lower finance cost and higher income from operations.
