Hyflux Ltd. is engaged in investment holding company. Its principal activities relating to the manufacturing of membrane systems were transferred to a subsidiary on January 1, 2008. The principal activities of its subsidiaries comprise Water and renewable resources management. Water includes seawater desalination, raw water purification, wastewater cleaning, water recycling, water reclamation and ultra pure water production for municipal and industrial clients, as well as home consumer filtration and purification products, and the design, build and sale of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants and water recycling plants under concession arrangements. Renewable resources management includes development of membrane applications in resource recovery, waste recycling and energy reclamation, including applications, such as used oil recovery and recycling; development and commercialization of specialty materials, and separation, concentration and purification treatments.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Hyflux Ltd.'s revenues increased 13% to SP$222.7M. Net income increased 10% to SP$31M. Revenue reflects an increase in demand for Company's products & services and higher turnover from the Municipal business segment. Net Income was partially offset by increased other expenses, higher finance cost, increased taxation, higher staff expenses and increased raw materials & consumables used.
