National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is an India-based company. The Company is an integrated aluminium complex, encompassing bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, and rail and port operations. The Company operates in three business segments: chemicals (alumina), aluminium and electricity. The chemicals segment includes calcined alumina, alumina hydrate and other related products. Aluminium includes aluminium ingots, wire rods, billets, strips and other related products. Bauxite produced for captive consumption of alumina is included under chemicals. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009 (fiscal 2009), the total production of bauxite was at 47,00,027 metric tons of bauxite. In fiscal 2009, the Company produced 15,76,500 metric tons of alumina and hydrates. During fiscal 2009, the Company produced 3,61,262 metric tons of aluminium metal. In fiscal 2009, the Company produced 5,541 million units of power.
