Company Profile For New World Resources N.V.

New World Resources N.V. is a Central Europe-based hard coal producer. The Company produces coking and thermal coal for the steel and energy sectors in the Central Europe, through its subsidiary OKD, the coal mining company in the Czech Republic. The Company’s customers include Arcelor Mittal Steel, U.S. Steel, Voest Alpine, Moravia Steel, CEZ and Dalkia. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company produced approximately 12.7 million tons of coal, of which approximately 7.4 million tons was coking coal and approximately 5.1 million tons was thermal coal. The Company also produced approximately 1.1 million tons of coke, converted from its own and purchased coking coal, which is used as a raw material for steel, foundries and isolation material production. The Company has two development projects in Poland. As of January 1, 2009, the Company had approximately 418 million tons of joint ores reserve committee (JORC) reserves.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, New World Resources NV's total revenue decreased 44% to EUR775.7M. Net loss from continuing operations totaled EUR73.9M, vs. a profit of EUR250.8M. Total revenue reflects a decreased sales in the Mining Division/Coal and Coke business segment. Net loss from continuing operations reflects lower operating margins due to decreased gain from materials sold as well as lower financial income.
