L'Oreal SA is a France-based cosmetics company that has operations worldwide. BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, L'Oreal's net sales increased 1% to EUR8.77B. Net income for the period decreased 14% to EUR1.08B. Total revenue reflects an increase in demand for the Company's products and services in the Dermatology and General Public Products business segments as well as in North America geographic segment. Net income was offset by increased advertising and promotion expenses.
