SAS AB is a Sweden-based company, engaged in the air transport services. It is a parent company within SAS Group, which operates within two business areas. The Core SAS segment encompasses airline services in the Nordic countries, as well as intercontinental flights through SAS Scandinavian Airlines, as well regional airlines in Norway through Wideroe and in Finland through Blue1. The SAS Individual Holdings segment comprises operations of Estonian Air, bmi, All Cargo, Skyways, Air Greenland, Spirit and Trust. SAS AB’s fleet encompasses ten planes. In addition, the Company offers ground handling services and technical maintenance for the aircraft, as well as air freight solutions and cargo capacity on passenger aircraft, purely cargo aircraft and cargo handling. The Group is also involved in the trainings within the technical aviation field.
BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, SAS AB's revenue decreased 14% to SEK34.60B. Net loss from continuing operations for the period decreased 54% to SEK1.64B. Revenue reflects decreased passenger traffic and a weaker load factor. Lower net loss from continuing operations for the period reflects a decrease in other operating expenses and a decrease in loss from share of income in affiliated companies.
