Sembcorp Industries Limited is a Singapore-based company. The principal activities of the Company include investment holding, and production and supply of utilities services, terminalling and storage of petroleum products and chemicals. The Company operates in five business segments: Utilities, Marine, Environment, Industrial Parks and Others/Corporate. In January 2008, the Company entered into an internal restructuring with its wholly owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Utilities Pte Limited for the acquisition of assets and businesses of Sembcorp Utilities & Terminals (SUT) and Propylene Purification Unit (PPU) divisions. The subsidiaries of the Company include Sembcorp Utilities Pte Limited, Sembcorp Cogen Pte Limited, Sembcorp Marine Limited, Jurong Shipyard Pte Limited, Sembcorp Environment Pte Limited, Sembcorp Industrial Parks Limited, and Sembcorp Design and Construction Pte Limited. In November 2008, the Company formed an equity joint venture, Shenyang Sembcorp Water Company.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, SembCorp Industries' revenues decreased 3% to SP$4.58B. Net income increased 5% to SP$275.5M. Revenues reflect lower sales from Utility, Environment and Industrial Parks business divisions. Net income reflects an increase in gross margins, a decrease in finance costs, lower general & administrative expenses, a decline in non operating income and lower cost of sales.
