Tekstil Bankasi A.S., also known as Tekstilbank, is a Turkey-based bank engaged in corporate and retail banking activities. The Bank's corporate products and services include domestic and export financing, risk management, Eximbank loans, foreign credits, non-cash loans, factoring and leasing. Retail banking services consist of consumer loans, safe deposit boxes, as well as private pension plans. Its investment offerings are treasury bills and government bonds, Eurobonds, deposits, repurchase agreements (repo), stock trading and investment fund services, and cash management services such as payments, collections and electronic data transfer. In addition, Tekstilbank branches act as insurance agencies for Gunes Sigorta A.S., Aviva Sigorta A.S., Vakif Emeklilik A.S. and Acibadem Sigorta A.S. BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Tekstil Bankasi A.S.'s interest income decreased 31% to TRY145.9M. Net interest income after loan loss provisions decreased 66% to TRY39.1M. Net income increased from TRY3.7M to TRY12.1M Interest income reflects a decrease in interest on loans as well as decrease from marketable securities. Net income benefited from decreased commission costs as well as lower other operating expenses.
