Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited (Telecom) is a supplier of telecommunications and information technology (IT) services in New Zealand and Australia. The Company provides a range of telecommunications and information technology products and services, including local, national, international and telephone services, mobile services, data, broadband and Internet services, IT consulting, implementation and procurement, equipment sales and installation services. Telecom operates in six segments: Chorus, Retail, Wholesale and International, Gen-i, AAPT, and Technology & Shared Services (T&SS). During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009 (fiscal 2009), Telecom acquired the business of Real Time Computing.
BRIEF: For the three months ended 30 September 2009, Telecom Corp of New Zealand's revenues decreased 7% to NZ$1.4M. Net income decreased 9% to NZ$162M. Revenues reflect a decrease in income from Local Service, Calling, Interconnection, Mobile, Resale and other operating revenues divisions. Net income also reflects an increase in amortization expenses, higher other operating expenses, lower interest income and rise in depreciation expenses.
