Farmers shun Diwali after bad yield
Oct 16 - Following poor crop yields, soybean and cotton farmers in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra have planned to boycott Diwali this year.
A majority of the farmers invested their money on the crops but have incurred losses due to delayed monsoons, poor rainfall and pest attacks that damaged the crop.
