NASA postpones its scheduled launch of the space shuttle Endeavour Friday because of technical problems. The space agency says two heaters on one of the shuttle's three onboard power units had failed, and the launch will be delayed for at least two days. U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, married to Endeavour commander Mark Kelly, was at the space center for the launch attempt. Giffords was gravely injured during an assassination attempt in January. U.S. President Barack Obama and his family kept their scheduled visit to Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The launch was to be the 134th and next to last for the U.S. space shuttle program. NASA is retiring its shuttles after a cargo run by the shuttle Atlantis this summer. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters.
