Amateur video shows anti-regime demonstrations in Southern Syria. The footage, which could not be independently verified by Reuters shows demonstrators continuing to decry the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Video from Aleppo purportedly shows demonstrations in a Kurdish enclave. The demonstrations continue amid reports from rights groups that at least 1,100 people have been killed since the uprisings began in mid march. In Homs, students purportedly from Baath University hold signs calling for freedom. In Hama, more night time demonstrations. Syrian authorities continue to blame the violence on "armed saboteur groups" backed by Islamist and outside powers. Syria has barred most international media since the protests broke out two months ago, making it difficult to verify accounts of the violence. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters
