Celebrities including Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Sarah Jessica Parker walked the red carpet in celebration of designer Donna Karan's first ever Urban Zen Apple Awards. Karan established the award as a way to celebrate the life of her late husband Stephan Weiss. This year former President Bill Clinton was recognized for his reconstruction efforts in ravaged nations. And talk show host Dr. Oz received praise for his commitment to healthcare and wellness. SOUNDBITE: Dr. Mehmet Oz, talk show host, saying (English): "What Donna is all about and what this organization is about is connecting people so we can create a boarder awareness of what health and wellness are all about. And so what we can do at this event, what we try to do on my show all the time, which to make you feel that it's hip and cool to be healthy, then we've gotten our goals matched." Actor Michael Douglas says his friendship with the late Weiss is part of why he supports the awards event. SOUNDBITE: Michael Douglas, actor, saying (English): "For Donna and her past husband Stephan and of course the President." An honor also went to educator Courtney Sale Ross for her dedication to empowering children through education. Alicia Powell, Reuters.
