It was an announcement about an announcement... Conservative U.S. congresswoman Michele Bachmann told an audience in Iowa Sunday night that she would formally announce her decision to run for president in the 2012 campaign on Monday. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MINNESOTA CONGRESSWOMAN MICHELE BACHMANN SAYING: "We'll be there at 9 o'clock in the morning. That's when I'll make my announcement. That's when I'll lay out the vision that I have for turning this country around and taking it back. I'm inviting you to come to that and be a part of it. I need you. I came here because it's all about Iowa." Bachmann is loved by members of the Tea Party... a conservative right leaning organization often criticized for being a fake grassroots movement. The 55 year Minnesota congresswoman vows to cut spending, shrink the government and repeal President Obama's 2010 healthcare overhaul. Her strong performance at a debate two weeks ago has given her a boost and prompted Republicans to give her a second look. A poll issued on Saturday puts Bachmann in second place right behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Julie Noce, Reuters
