(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) The Venezuelan and Cuban governments released new photos and video footage of President Hugo Chavez on Tuesday, in an effort to quell rumours that his on-going medical treatment in Cuba may be for a serious condition. On Tuesday night, Venezuelan and Cuban state TV aired a brief montage of images of Chavez with an ally, the former Cuban President Fidel Castro. The two were seen in video and still photos talking and laughing, and looking at the Cuban state newspaper, Granma. Though officials have said the 56-year-old Chavez was recovering well from surgery to remove an abscess from his pelvis, Chavez's absence since June 10 had prompted widespread speculation he may be seriously ill, possibly suffering from prostate cancer.
