Burned out shops and deserted streets are all that remain for residents in Hama, Syria. Since Thursday, the government has been giving tours of the city to foreign journalists-- hoping to portray a sense of calm and control. But scars from a week long, bloody crackdown by Syrian forces are still visible...Burned out vehicles, buildings peppered with machine gun bullets, and a police headquarters building reduced to rubble. The city has become a symbol in the uprising against the 11 year rule of President Bashar al-Assad. Human rights groups say 17-hundred civilians have been killed throughout the country so far... while Syrian forces say 500 of their police or army have been killed. Julie Noce, Reuters.
