Amateur video out of rural Damascus shows demonstrators back on the streets calling for an end of the regime. The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes amid reports that Syrian forces killed 20 demonstrators Friday despite a pledge by President Bashar al-Assad that a crackdown was over. Video, purpotedly from Hama appears to show a funeral march. Activists say thousands marched across Syria, spurred on by U.S. and European calls for Assad to to step down. In other parts of Syria, footage shows demonstrators chanting in the streets. Earlier in the week Assad told the UN that military and police operations had stopped. Activists said his forces were still shooting at protesters. Syria has expelled most independent media since the unrest began, making it difficult to verify accounts. Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters
