Angelina Jolie's love affair with the Balkans continues. She travelled to the Croatian island of Mali Brijin to meet with the country's president Ivo Josipovic and his wife Tatjana. Upon arrival, she hugged Croatian actor-director Brank Durovic, who stars in her directorial debut "The Land of Blood and Honey". Jolie had a taste of the local brew with a welcome toast, then later watched a performance of "King Lear". The actress and UN ambassador is a friend of the founder of the the Ulysses Theatre, which put on the production. Afterwards, Jolie thanked the crowd and her hosts for their warm welcome. "The Land of Blood and Honey" is set during the Bosnian war and follows the romance between a Christian Serb and Bosnian Muslim.
