The mother of Mohamed Bouazizi, the Tunisian man who set himself on fire in an act of protest which inspired the Arab Spring, votes in the nation's first free elections Sunday. Her son set himself on fire last December after he was driven to despair by police who confiscated his fruit and vegetable cart. His death unleashed a fury prompting protests that forced President Zine Al-Abidine Ben Ali to flee the country. His mother is proud of her son's sacrifice. SOUNDBITE: Manoubia Bouazizi, saying (Arabic): "I am very, very, very proud, may God have mercy on my son and all the martyrs, as they are the ones who made this revolution and changed the country, Tunisia, with the help of God," The election has pitted Islamists, free for the first time to publicly express their faith, against secularist parties who say the Islamists will undermine Tunisia's liberal traditions.
