PLEASE NOTE: THIS EDIT CONTAINS GRAPHIC MATERIAL This is the aftermath of an explosion in Damascus, as reported by Syrian state TV. The report said a 10-year-old boy was killed when an armed group remotely detonated an explosive device and opened fire at random. The father said his son was just out to buy bread, when the blast happened. Images of people wounded in the attack were also shown in the report. The Arab League suspended its monitoring mission in Syria on Saturday, citing an escalation of violence. Syria TV said a number of civilians and security forces were also wounded by two explosive devices planted by militant groups on the outskirts of Damascus. President Bashar al-Assad has repeatedly blamed conspirators for Syria's pro-democracy uprising. The opposition dismisses this as a ploy to sway public sentiment. Across Syria -- protests continue. This video from a social media website shows the funeral of a boy in Damascus. From Homs -- another funeral, this time of an 11-year old and his mother, said to be killed by security forces. Reuters cannot independently verify these pictures. The Arab league and Western countries are pushing for a U.N Security Council resolution on Syria. The UN says more than 5,000 people have been killed in the security crackdown against protesters. Michaela Cabrera, Reuters.
