Britain's Prince William and his wife Catherine are expecting their first child. In the town of Bucklebury, where The Duchess of Cambridge grew up and where her parents still live, people were overjoyed. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BUTCHER, MARTIN FIDLER, SAYING: "They're a lovely couple. They're having a child. Wow, what a thing for the country and the world really, because these royals are our future. This is what people have got to think about. This is our future, the royalty in this country, and they will take it a long long way, like the Queen has for 60 years. Bless her," With the mother-to-be in hospital due to acute morning sickness, Londoners sent their best wishes. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ASHLEY GILL (left), SAYING: "It's fantastic news, good for the royal family. New era, new heir." British Prime Minister David Cameron also offered his congratulations to the royal couple. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, DAVID CAMERON, SAYING: "It's absolutely wonderful news and I'm delighted for them. I'm sure they'll make absolutely brilliant parents and I'm sure everyone around the country will be celebrating with them tonight." The Prince's office released a statement saying theroyal couple are "very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby." William, Queen Elizabeth's grandson, is second in line to the British throne. Their first child will be third in line.
