The UK entrepreneur Richard Branson is today's power player - his Virgin Group is at the centre of speculation about a major airline sale. Singapore Airlines is in talks to sell its 49 percent stake in Virgin Atlantic. Delta Air Lines is reported to be one of the suitors, attracted by Virgin's lucrative landing slots at Heathrow airport. The British carrier is the second largest at a hub popular with corporate passengers. Delta is apparently considering ways to team up with Air France-KLM to win control from Virgin Atlantic without breaking EU regulations. All Europe's airlines must be controlled by Europeans. But the flamboyant Brit - who's also known for his flying adventures in hot air balloons and even spaceships - is supposedly not looking to sell. Reports suggest Virgin Group wants to keep its 51 percent state in Virgin Atlantic and work with Delta if the US carrier pulls off a deal.
