ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Hundreds of NATO troops stationed at a base in Kabul celebrate Christmas Eve on Monday as troops sang festive carols songs, lit candles with a church service and Christmas dinner. Christmas is celebrated as a major festival in countries around the world, including many whose populations are mostly non-Christian. "Well of course the holiday season typically joyful because you get spend with your family and friends of course the situation here is a little bit different you know being in the environment … but even then there are still a lot of things to look around and to be thankful for and the other thing is I think really interesting are here is scene of the different nationalities and everybody can celebrate in their own way with make shift ….it is really cool environment," said Michael McCain, a NATO soldier. The United States and its NATO allies are gradually pulling their forces out of Afghanistan, and handing over security responsibilities to Afghan forces by 2014.
