New Year's Day dawns with the bright flash of fireworks in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang. The country's leader Kim Jong-un did his own share of celebrating at a special New Year's Eve party where he raised a glass with foreign dignitaries and his wife, pop star Ri Sol-ju. But the night was not yet over. After the party, Kim attended a concert that included a performance by another sign of culture change - the newly formed "girl group" Moranbong Band. And according to state television, Kim may be leaning toward a more peaceful 2013. In a nationwide radio address on Tuesday, the leader called for an end to conflict between the two Koreas after months of raised tensions over missile launches. The address was the first of its kind by a North Korean chief in 19 years since Kim's grandfather passed away. Kim took over for his father Kim Jong-il following his death in 2011.
