It ripped the wall off this building, and left piles of mangled steel and debris. Syrian State TV say at least 42 people were killed after a car bomb tore through the town of Salimiyah, which is located near Homs -- a site of frequent clashes. Other video posted to a social media website shows just rubble and damage well beyond the blast zone. Concrete supports could be seen jutting from buildings as locals assessed the damage. Activists say the bomb went off near a building used by pro-Assad forces. Reuters cannot independently verify the content of this video. This level of unrest in Syria as well as increasing crossborder fire has neighbors like Turkey shoring up their defense along the perimeter. Ankara's request for help from NATO prompted Netherlands, Germany and the United States to send several Patriot missile batteries. Convoys of trucks carrying launchers as well as up to 400 international forces could be seen on roads throughout Southern Turkey --- all of it in anticipation of more cross border exchanges
