March 29 - A lawyer hurls shoe at former Pakistani President Musharraf as he arrives at court to extend bail on charges of conspiracy to murder and fire judges. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Supporters of Pervez Musharraf await the former President outside a court house in Karachi. His detractors are also on site. Musharraf returned to Pakistan Sunday after more than four years of self-exile. He plans to contest upcoming elections despite the possibility of arrest and death threats from the Taliban. Musharraf hopes to regain influence so that his party can win seats in the general election scheduled for May 11, Footage from Geo TV shows at attempt to throw a shoe at Musharraf. The former President did find relief inside the court. The judge extended his bail on charges that he failed to provide adequate security to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto as well as charges in connection with the death of a separatist leader. He denies any wrongdoing.
