Two rockets landed in Baabada east of Beirut late on Thursday (August 1) close to a military compound and Lebanon's presidential palace, security sources said. No one was hurt in the incident and it's not clear who fired the rockets. The incident marks the second time in two months that rockets have been fired in the area, amid heightened sectarian tension in Lebanon over the civil war in neighbouring Syria. Sunni Muslims in Lebanon mostly support the Syrian rebels fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad. Fighters from Lebanon's Shi'ite Muslim guerrilla group Hezbollah have fought inside Syria in support of Assad's forces against the rebels.
