Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey to receive Medal of Freedom

August 9 - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and Gloria Steinem are among this year's recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Elly Park reports.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EDIT CONTAINS MATERIAL WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY 4:3 Former U.S. president Bill Clinton is heading back to the White House later this year to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States. He is among a group of 16 people receiving the honor on the year marking the award's 50th anniversary. Also on the list of recipients is billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey, best known for her highly rated talk show the "Oprah Winfrey Show". And Gloria Steinem, a renowned writer and activist for women's equality, who was a leader in the women's liberation movement. U.S. President Barack Obama said in a statement that the honorees on this year's list are blessed with extraordinary talent. Also included in this group are country singer Loretta Lynn and nine-time Grammy-winner Arturo Sandoval -- widely considered one of the greatest jazz artists alive.
