Nicknames are banded around in music more than any other industry, but 'Godfathers of Vladrock' is probably one you've never heard before. But that's how Blast Unit Moscow have been described. They're a Russian band set to release a new single "Rollercoaster Ride". And lead singer Nash Tavkhelidze says its a song we can all relate to. SOUNDBITE: Blast Unit Moscow Lead Singer, Nash Tavkhelidze, saying (English): "The moment you are born the trouble starts. Your life becomes a survival, man, there is no time to enjoy it, to be with your family, and it's getting tougher and tougher, because you have to pay this, pay this, and it's all over the world, the same thing in Russia, you know? So when you talk to people you just feel it, you just hear it, you know, and then you put it into the song, it's just a rollercoaster ride -- it never stops." Even though they're Russian the band sings in English. But that hasn't stopped their popularity soaring. Tavkhelidze says he and his bandmates are just the tip of the iceberg, and they might just have the UK to thank. SOUNDBITE: Blast Unit Moscow Lead Singer, Nash Tavkhelidze, saying (English): "What's happening in Russia, it's a lot of great energy and young crowd, you know, because within 20 years we had so much going on, which Western countries had within 200 years, so it's like it's pumped in, it's something that's ready to explode and you know what, it's Russian, this new generation of Russian guys and girls, they love UK bands, you know, it's really influential, even in Russia. It's starting slowly to build up, but it takes time to build up, but it's great." Blast Unit Moscow are due to gig in the UK in September. 'Rollercoaster Ride' is out August 12.
