A bomb ripped through the side of this bus in the Yemeni capital, killing at least six. 26 other people were wounded in the attack. The vehicle was taking members of Yemen's air force to their base in the capital. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) YEMENI AIR FORCE SOLDIER, AMEEN SAREE, SAYING: "This morning the bus was driving when suddenly we heard an explosion. An explosive device was under the bus, which killed our colleagues. About six soldiers were killed and several wounded." Yemen has been in turmoil after pro-democracy protests against former President Ali Abdullah Saleh broke out in early 2011. Attacks against military personnel are more common in the largely lawless south and east of the country where an Islamist insurgency still rages. Yemen, one of the poorest countries in the Arab world, is also battling a powerful branch of al Qaeda that U.S. officials say is the most dangerous of the global network.
