U.S. troops mark Thanksgiving in Afghanistan

Nov. 28 - U.S. forces enjoyed turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie as military bases throughout Afghanistan marked the Thanksgiving holiday. Deborah Gembara reports.

Celebrating Thanksgiving in a war zone. U.S. forces waited in line at this base in Kabul for a taste of home. There was the traditional Turkey --- and potatoes --- a sumptuous spread served served with a bit of humor. Nearly 47,000 U.S. forces are in Afghanistan, but it isn't clear just how many will be here after next year's scheduled drawdown. White combat operations are expected to end in 2014, the White House has threatened to pull all of its troops from the country unless President Hamid Karzai signs a security agreement sometime soon.
