The Amazing Spider-Man is back for a second film and this time he's up against a slew of super-villains including Electro, The Rhino and The Green Goblin as well as the mysterious Oscorp Industries. Spider-Man is also up against a number of other big screen comic book adaptations in 2014 including The X-Men, Captain America, Sin City and Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Andrew Garfield, who plays the superhero, explained at a news conference in Beijing at the start of the film's global promotional tour why the web-slinging Spider-Man beats other comic book heroes hands down. SOUNDBITE Actor, Andrew Garfield, saying (English): "It's a mask and suit that covers the whole body. It's the only superhero where you can't tell what skin colour is under it so every single culture from around the world can place themselves or project themselves into that and I think that's what the power of this character is." Taking on the role of the villain, Electro, is Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, who found the atmosphere on set electric. SOUNDBITE Actor, Jamie Foxx, saying (English): "I think what's great about being the character and about being with these guys - even when he doesn't have the suit on and even when they're having moments in the movie that don't have anything to do with being a superhero, it's still compelling and I wanted to be part of that." Spider-Man has a lot of villains and issues to face in this installment but if audiences are hoping for a happy ending, the director Marc Webb is going to disappoint them. SOUNDBITE Director, Marc Webb, saying (English): "I think when people walk away from the movie, they'll understand why Peter Parker will be changed and Spider-Man will be changed forever and I think that was one of the most fun and exciting things to explore in the film." "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is going on release around the world in the second half of April before finally reaching North American shores on May 2nd.
