Gene Simmons is making headlines for his recent comments about drug addiction and depression. The Kiss frontman gave an interview to SongFacts.com, saying, in reference to someone who was depressed, "then kill yourself." He also said that someone deciding to jump to their death should "have some dignity and jump." The comments have induced outrage from a variety of sources, calling Simmons insensitive, especially in the wake of Robin Williams' apparent suicide.
Speaking of Williams, the late actor will be memorialized as a character in the online game "World of Warcraft." The actor was a fan of the game and "Warcraft's" lead designer said that they would create a character in honor of Williams, following an online petition from fans. There is a similar petition to get Williams honored in "Legend of Zelda," a game he liked so much, he named his daughter after it.
Finally, Casey Kasem will be buried in Norway. A spokesman for Kasem's daughter said that the late radio personality's wife intends to bury him in the Nordic country, even though his children have come out publicly saying their father's wish was to be buried in California. Kasem died on June 15 after a long-running dispute over his care between his wife and Kasem's three children from his first marriage.
