A plume of smoke rises above the Afghanistan capital. A Taliban suicide bomber attacked a convoy of coalition troops, littering this Kabul Street with rubble and glass. The blast tore through scores of cars along the main airport road near the US embassy, twisting them into mangled hunks of metal. (SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) WITNESS HAJI AWAL GUL, SAYING: "I was stuck in traffic when the explosion happened. It was powerful and the target was foreign vehicles." Security forces and ambulances arrived at the scene minutes after the attack on Tuesday morning. A foreign soldier from the convoy can be seen recieving first aid, a body lies next to him. Tensions have been building in Afghanistan after a disputed presidential election destabilised the country. Most foreign troops will withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of the year. And Taliban insurgents have been exploiting the uncertainty, launching bombings and attacks like these across the country.
