ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: German Chancellor Angela Merkel was welcomed to Florence on Thursday (January 22) by Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi ahead of a meeting to discuss German plans for the presidency of the G7. Merkel inspected a guard of honor at the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's impressive thirteenth century town hall before attending a dinner. Speaking in Davos, Switzerland, earlier in the day Merkel warned fellow European leaders not to ease off on economic reforms after the European Central Bank announced bold new moves to bolster growth in the euro area.
