ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. President Barack Obama called the reported killing by Islamic State of a Jordan pilot hostage "one more indication of the viciousness and barbarity of this organization." "It, I think, will redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of a global coalition to make sure they are degraded and ultimately defeated," Obama told reporters Tuesday (February 3). The White House said the U.S. intelligence community was working to authenticate the video purporting to show Muath al-Kasaesbeh's murder, and it condemned the militant group. Reuters could not immediately confirm the five images, which showed a burning man standing in a black cage. Kasaesbeh was captured by Islamic State after his plane crashed over Syria in December.
