Iraqi forces move to retake Saddam's hometown

Iraqi forces and Shi'ite militiamen say they are moving into positions around Tikrit for a push on Islamic State. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

Iraqi soldiers join forces with Shi'ite militia as they move to to seal off Islamic State fighters in Tikrit and nearby towns. It is the second day of Iraq's biggest offensive yet against a stronghold of the Sunni militants. Video released by Al-Hashid Al-Shaabi shows Iraqi soldiers searching unidentified empty buildings near on the outskirts of Tikrit. They have yet to enter, the hometown of executed former president Saddam Hussein, which officials describe as a major center for Islamic State. Witnesses tell Reuters an Iranian military commander is overseeing Iraq's military operation.
