Children and residents in Yemen's West Aden ran through the streets late last week as smoke filled the horizon. Coalition air strikes continue here in a Saudi-led campaign against Iran-backed Houthi rebels who have control over large portions of the country. Since the air strikes began three weeks ago, the United Nations estimates some 150,000 people have been forced from their homes. More than 750 people have been killed. A spokesman for the coalition said Saturday a member of the Saudi ground force has died in the ongoing clashes. The upsurge in violence has prompted calls for a political solution from both the U.S. and China. The conflict, though rooted in local rivalries, has been described as a proxy war between predominately Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shi'ite Iran, both top OPEC oil producers.
