Heavy fighting echoes in Yemen's southern city of Taiz, where witnesses say at least seven people were killed. The clashes between Shi'ite Houthi rebels and troops loyal to exiled President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi began early Sunday. More than 30 people were injured and taken to a local hospital. One witness says fighters fired heavy weaponry on residential neighborhoods. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) TAIZ RESIDENT, MUBARAK MOHAMMED, SAYING: "Here in Taiz we are being targeted by heavy weapons including RPGs and Katyusha and artillery shells. All the victims of this war are innocents and children." The fighting in Taiz comes as the Saudi-led coalition pounded a military site in the capital Sanaa. The coalition aims to oust the rebels there and has intensified its attacks this week. U.N.-sponsored peace talks have been set for May 28th in Geneva, but neither side has expressed willingness to attend, leaving little hope the fighting will end.
