Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou visits a hospital where hundreds injured in a fire at a water amusement park are being treated. Yiming Woo reports.

Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou visits people injured in a huge fire at a water amusement park. More than 500 people suffered burns. 180 of them are still in intensive care. (SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) TAIWAN'S PRESIDENT, MA YING-JEOU, SAYING: "The main (purpose) was to promise their relatives that that government will do its best to help and treat them, and investigate into who should take responsibility." About 1,000 people were at a party at the park. They were sprayed with coloured powder -- and then an explosion happened. Authorities have banned the use of the powder until the investigation is completed. This man's 18-year-old daughter was caught in the blaze. (SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) UNIDENTIFIED FATHER OF 18-YEAR-OLD FEMALE STUDENT VICTIM, SAYING: "A child who had gone out happily is now lying in the hospital on the verge of death." The water amusement park has been closed temporarily.
