The numbers are in. Incumbent Pierre Nkurunziza has won re-election in Burundi. The electoral commission announced the results Friday, despite a vote marred by violence and a boycott by the opposition. This will be Nkurunziza's third five-year term after taking more than 69 percent of the votes. His nearest rival took almost 19 percent. The opposition says Nkurunziza's bid violated the constitution. A constitutional court ruling allowed the president to run. The victory leaves the east African nation politically divided and facing more international isolation after months of unrest.
