Republican presidential contender Rand Paul is vowing more efforts to cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood. The U.S. Senator from Kentucky is a staunch opponent of the non-profit reproductive healthcare organization which provides abortions. And he says American taxpayers don't want to pay for what he describes as a "gruesome procedure". (SOT WITH REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE RAND PAUL) "Every bit of money that Planned Parenthood gets is already given to community health centers. Community health centers do everything Planned Parenthood does except for abortions. There's no reason for Planned Parenthood to get any federal money, and basically the things they are doing are unacceptable to a vast majority of people, pro life or pro choice." A spokesman for Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he's started a "fast-track process" to bring de-funding legislation introduced by Paul for a vote soon. Planned Parenthood was thrust into the spotlight after an anti-abortion group secretly recorded videos that they say show the organization illegally selling aborted fetal tissue.
