Protesters interrupt Democratic presidential nominee Bernie Sanders during a rally in Seattle, Washington on Saturday. Two women from the Seattle chapter of Black Lives Matter took the stage as Sanders was beginning to address the crowd. (nats Sanders saying: 'Thank you Seattle for being one of the most progressive cities in America!' before protesters confronted him.) Some people in the mostly-white audience booed at the disruption. Others held signs supporting the group. In a news release posted on Facebook, the activists said Sanders and other white progressives failed to support their movement. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MARISSA JOHNSON, BLACK LIVES MATTER, SAYING: "We are located in King County, where the silhouette of Martin Luther King reigns high while we spend 210 million dollars building a new jail to imprison black children." Sanders is an independent senator from Vermont and has become an alternative to Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton amongst progressives.
