THIS EDIT CONTAINS USER GENERATED CONTENT THAT WAS UPLOADED TO A SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITE. IT HAS BEEN CHECKED BY REUTERS' SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM AND REVIEWED BY A SENIOR EDITOR. REUTERS IS CONFIDENT THE EVENTS PORTRAYED ARE GENUINE. Syrian activists drive around the western city of Douma, warning residents to get indoors. Government airplanes, they say, are in the sky. Then this.... (explosion) It's video Reuters can't verify but the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the Syrian military has been bombarding Douma, keeping up its attack on a rebel-held district where some 100 people were killed over the weekend. The Observatory also says a suicide bomber set off a truck bomb outside the offices of a Kurdish security agency in the northeastern city of Qamishli, near the Turkish border. This video claims to be the aftermath of the blast, which the Observatory says killed at least 11 people and wounded at least 29 others. An Islamic State statement took credit for the attack, which hit the headquarters for an internal security force set up by the autonomous Kurdish administration that runs large sections of northern Syria. The Kurds have wrested control of some of those areas from Islamic State and have emerged as a major partner in the U.S.-led campaign against the insurgents.
