ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired rockets on the Yemeni city of Taiz on Wednesday (November 4), killing 11 people and wounding 21 others, local hospital officials and residents said. The rocket fire began late on Tuesday (November 3) and continued into Wednesday, hitting neighborhoods in the eastern and central parts of the city. The director of the local hospital, Sadeq al-Shuja, told Reuters that 11 people had been killed and 21 others were wounded by the rocket fire since Tuesday evening. Residents said Houthi militias were responsible for the attacks. Taiz has been the scene of heavy fighting in recent weeks as troops loyal to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi fight to retake the city. The fierce fighting has crippled the city, Yemen's third largest, with the U.N. World Food Programme warning last week that warring factions had blocked food supplies leaving thousands of people in extreme hunger. The last U.N. food aid to reach Taiz was more than five weeks ago when food was distributed to nearly 240,000 people, it said.
